Educational, therapeutic and support services strike deep at my core values of assisting learning and life skills development. I have thirty years of extensive research and training in the areas of learning, learning design, motivation, depth psychology, personal development and leadership. The focus was on how to practically apply this in study, community and the workplace.

I started researching and developing effective learning skills in 1989 to improve my university grades. This led to my master’s thesis which examined the effectiveness of these learning techniques when applied in a New Zealand nationally recognised commercial leadership training course.

After graduation I taught study skills full time within a high school. I was then self employed as an educational consultant for 2 years before going back to university to finish my accounting papers.

I was a MensTrust trustee for three years and workshop facilitator for five years. MensTrust being a charitable trust that runs workshops and support networks to assist men in their personal growth. Assisting these men through profound life changes inspired 3 ½ years in a PhD Program at the University of Canterbury. The research focused on the leadership development they gained through these mens-groups.

I have undertaken extensive training in counselling and communication skills. I am Internationally certified Trainer of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) since April 2000 and NLP counsellor (1995).
